The ice cream parlor and Café Italia in Friedrichshafen is located right at the popular lakeside lane. Besides getting your ice in a cone or cup they offer a wide variety of snacks and desserts. Founded more than 60 years ago Italia in Friedrichshafen is the go-to spot for delicious italian made gelato, both for locals and tourists. So don’t bother if the queue is too long, the ice will satisfy you.

But as I have another favourite ice cream parlour for my ice in a cone I enjoy having desserts at Italia. As you can see from the pictures above and below, I really enjoyed my summer there several times. My favourite is the kids-dessert “Kinderteller”, consisting of two balls of gelato, some cream and strawberries and strawberry sauce. Another favourite is the “Strawberry waffle”, with a waffle, one ball of vanilla ice-cream, some strawberries and strawberry sauce and cream. But when ordering the waffle you should remember the waitress or waiter that you don’t want it too brown (unless of course, you want it that way) as it seems that the often forget the waffles in their machine and they serve them even dark brown and hard to you. Besides that the service is friendly and the view on the lake and the people walking by is just great. For better views, they have another deck on top (stairway is located inside).

In another article, I’ll share some photos of my ice-cream cones by my another favourite ice cream parlour in Friedrichshafen, “Kibele Friedrichshafen”, also located on the waterfront.
