The THE POOL Restaurant claims to offer THE best Mediterranean Food in Amsterdam. If this is true? THE POOL is THE STUDENT HOTEL Amsterdam City’s Restaurant, therefore I was able to eat there twice for dinner and once for Lunch. Enough possibilities to eat me through their menu.
THE POOL Amsterdam
The Food at THE POOL in Amsterdam is indeed all Mediterranean. From Hummus bin Tahin with Pita Brot and pizzette to Spanish Red Galician-Meat. Vegetarian Dishes are marked with a V, but not every (THE POOL Margherita Pizza not). For vegetarians, they offer a variety of side dishes and smaller Mezze Portions. This makes it really tempting to try several dishes and tastes. In a Group, you can order the complete menu to share them.
My personal favourites at THE POOL at THE STUDENT HOTEL Amsterdam City are the Lebanese spiced French Fries and the Hummus Bin Tahina. You can either die the fries into Ketchup or Mayonnaise or straight in the Hummus (what I did).
THE vegetarian Pizzette THE POOL, a classic Margherita Pizza with tomato sauce and Mozzarella was very tasty as well. As the dough is super thin, and the size is smaller than regular, it saves calories. And space for a dessert. The “Sunny side up” is considered to be very gold, I tried the Baklava instead. It’s super sweet but pairs very well with an espresso.
Considering the price, the value is fairly good. The design of the Restaurant is Pool-themed and the played music is entertaining. There are seats outside, you can watch the sunset from there, and inside of course as well. Due to the fast and free WiFi, it’s not rare to see people with their laptops while eating or drinking something. THE POOL is now among my favourite Restaurants in Amsterdam, and I can’t wait to be back!
