2015 Mercedes-Benz GLC – an ideal Roadtrip Car ?

Mercedes Benz GLC Roadtrip JoyDellaVita

Just pack all your things together, throw them in a Car an go. Off and go, always following the Road in front of you. Sometimes you go left, sometimes right, but you always stay on your Route to nowhere. Is this the BEST Roadtrip? Just go where your Car brings you, stop where your brain says to do and to sleep where your heart wishes for? Or do you rather want to do Roadtrips that bring you from Place A to B, with thousands of kilometres and stories in between?

On June 17th it was the Day of the official World Premiere of the brand new 2015 Mercedes-Benz GLC. I went to Metzingen in the south of Germany, south of Stuttgart, to join the event. It was just a static presentation, so we were not yet allowed to drive the new GLC, but to have a very close look on it and to sit inside. As I personally have no needs to own a Car by myself, I asked myself during the debut event: Is the 2015 Mercedes-Benz GLC an ideal Roadtrip Car? And here I’m answering this for you!

What an ideal Roadtrip Car should have

Yes, first: What are the Characteristics of an ideal Roadtrip Car? Sure, the fun with a total broke Car can be the same as with a brand new SUV, but what about comfort and all the high-tech and connectivity aspects?

Travelling by Car allows you to be more independent and spontaneous. And if needed you can stay overnight in your Roadtrip Car as well. If you are planning on travelling Europe by Car the roads are, if you are using motorways, most of the time quite good and not very bumpy. But nevertheless, if you plan a long car trip the vehicle should be comfortable. Not that you enjoy the Trip itself more, also it’s important if you want to reach your destination not too exhausted. For some great Tips, Mashable shared some Roadtrip Hacks that sound pretty helpful.

the 2015 Mercedes-Benz GLC

The Mercedes-Benz GLC is the new name of the former GLK-Class and undoubtedly part of the emerging SUV-Section. But besides just being huge it features a ton of new safety standards. They will not only help you behind the wheel and inside the car, it’s also more safe for everyone around you. Some of the new driver assistance systems are the Collision prevention assist plus, a crosswind assist as well as an attention assist. Some additional new features are the PRE‑SAFE® Brake with pedestrian detection or an active lane keeping assist. If this sounds like Chinese to you, they are for example braking if some person or animal are running right in front of you, even before you even realize what happens. Or they help you to keep in your lane on the highway, even if there are some heavy winds. It’s not yet available as a fully electric car but as a Hybrid Version that drives a few kilometre fully electric – yay!

All in all the 2015 Mercedes-Benz GLC has a lot of features that make travelling, both in the cities and on the motorways, much easier and enjoyable and read here more about the new GLC if you are interested in further Information.
