Hotel Einstein St. Gallen (in the City Centre)

First off, Hotel Einstein St. Gallen has nothing to do with world-famous theoretical physicist Albert Einstein. Hotel Einstein is named after one of the former owners of the House, Isaak David Einstein. The five storey building was built in 1830 and wasn’t a Hotel from the beginning. It was used by the textile industry until the Hotel opening in 1983. However, more Info on the History of the Building can be found on the Hotels website. Still nowadays, and already back in 1983, Einstein St. Gallen is a 4 Star Superior Hotel with 113 rooms and suites, the leading Hotel in Town. For individual travellers or business/Conference participants, the Hotel fits every need. The Einstein Restaurant offers the highest pleasure as it has 17 GaultMillau points and 1 Michelin star for refined dining, for light regional cuisine there is the Einstein Bistro. Another key feature of the Hotel is the 3000m2 Einstein fitness park with pool and bio sauna. And all is centrally located.

From the Main Train station, it was a short walk by foot to Hotel Einstein St. Gallen. With more luggage, I can for sure recommend getting a Taxi/Transfer, but it’s really not a huge distance to both the City Centre and the Train Station. Otherwise, they have a covered car park if you’re arriving by Car.
Already at the End of November, the Hotel was decorated with hundreds of Christmas lights, immediately bringing me in a festive mood. After a fast check-in, I was able to proceed to my room on the second floor, by elevator. My Room was a Comfort Room, these are either equipped with a Queen Size or double bed. Hotel Einstein St. Gallen is a classical and elegant Hotel, decorated with fine fabrics from renowned local textile manufacturers, cherry wood and marble. It’s a Hotel that has still its own identity and charm, with no intent on being too modern, sleek nor in personal. Besides a comfy bed, by room had a large wardrobe, a wall-mounted TV, a desk with a chair and a bathroom with a spacious shower. On their Website you can find more Info on the different hotel rooms.
A very nice detail are the apples I found on my floor, complimentary for all hotel guests. I don’t think I ever stayed at a Hotel that offered such a health-kick.

During my stay at Hotel Einstein St. Gallen I could not enjoy everything the Hotel has to offer, such as the Michelin Star Restaurant, the Breakfast Buffet nor the large Fitness Area. But to end my evening I had a Drink at Einstein Bar, a famous place in town including a Davidoff Cigar Lounge.
