Hotel with Terrace and Outdoor Pool – Alexandra Barcelona, a DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel

In Barcelona, the location of your Hotel is key. Whilst the W Barcelona, for example, is nice on many levels, it is just so so far from everything else. For a City Trip to Barcelona, where you just want to step out of your Hotel and be exactly where you want to be, you should definitely consider a more central location. In addition to this, a garden terrace with an outdoor pool is a real gem. Alexandra Barcelona, a DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, is located right next to Passeig de Gràcia with buildings by Gaudi literally to your left and right.

From the outside, Alexandra Barcelona, a DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, looks typical in a modern Catalan way, like any other house front in Barcelona, but with a more posh aesthetic. My Check-In in the late afternoon went fast and within no time I was able to proceed to my Room on the 6th level. If you aren’t already, you should consider becoming a HiltonHonors member, to enjoy benefits during your stays at Hilton Hotels (like complimentary WiFi). A really nice surprise was that every Guest was handed a warm cookie, as a welcome gift. And without exaggeration, this was the best chocolate cookie I had in a really long time! I should have asked for a second one or offered to buy some, it was truly delicious!

After the huge surprise of the cookie, my room did not quite fit my expectations. On their website, you can find a link below in the contact details, the rooms look very modern, sleek and chic. My Room seemed to be one of the unrefurbished ones, with outdated furnishings and dark wood and absolutely no view at all.
As I did not want to spend too much time in my room before my evening plans, I just quickly did this room tour and headed out to finally visit Casa Batlló which is just 400 m from the Hotel on Passeig de Gràcia 43.

Would I recommend Alexandra Barcelona, a DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel? Well, if you score a good deal and want to enjoy the outdoor terrace with pool, go ahead and enjoy your stay, otherwise, I’d recommend something else.
