Staying at Lindner City Plaza Hotel Cologne (Hotel room with the best view!)

First Class Room, first Class View. When I arrived at Lindner City Plaza Hotel in Cologne I would have never expected what was awaiting me in my room and on my floor. During the fast check-in procedure, I was informed that I’m having a Room with complimentary Lounge access and all the included amenities. I had to pull myself together, to not to scream for joy. My First Class Double Room surprised me with how spacious it was, but I still didn’t know about the coolest feature of my Hotel Room in Cologne, yet. Usually, the First Class Rooms range from 24 sqm to 35 sqm and are suitable for up to 3 guests, I definitely had one of the larger rooms. All the rooms are equipped with a TV, Radio and Telephone, a working desk with a chair and an armchair to relax, partly with couch/sitting area, a mini-fridge and Coffee/tea facilities. In the bathroom, you will find a combination of shower & bathtub, a Hairdryer, Vanity mirror as well as a Bathrobe and slippers, and of course complimentary care products. Even allergy-friendly rooms available if requested, upon availability.
But now the two main highlights: all guests of First Class Rooms have free entrance to the First Class Lindner Lounge, where I spent some hours working, eating and relaxing, and, drum-roll, a partly view of the cathedral. Whoa, I would have never expected this! As usual, after unpacking my stuff, having all the devices hanging on the walls charging, I opened the window. As usual. Checking out the neighbourhood, discovering what’s around me etc. Then I turned my head to my right and there it was, in all it’s glory, the Kölner Dom, Cologne cathedral. As the Lindner City Plaza is about 1,2 km from the main train station and the cathedral, I would have never expected a cathedral view from my very own hotel room. Due to the window ledge, it was even possible to sit there and just enjoy the view. I especially liked it during sunset, when the sky was still blue but the two towers of the cathedral were illuminated in the most orange-pink-ish light. How dreamy… If you ever wonder, Cologne actually is pretty, sometimes 😉
