There is a Five Guys Burger Restaurant in Aix-en-Provence!! With Five Guys Restaurants in only three cities in France, the others are in Paris and Dijon, this is something really special for Aix. I was anyway honestly surprised about the amount of “big stores” in Aix-en-Provence. For example there is an Apple Store right nearby the Five Guys at La Rotonde, the big roundabout in the city centre. As a vegetarian, I’m definitely into the Five Guys Burgers. Well, actually their meat-free products aren’t named “Burger” but “Sandwich”, however they are super tasty no matter their name. Either a possibly vegan Veggie Sandwich, or Cheese Veggie Sandwich, it’s still possible to enjoy the freshly made Five Guys meals. What differences Five Guys from other Fast Food Burger Chains is their show kitchen style fresh preparation of the food. Everything gets grilled on demand only, the beef, the veggies, the bread toasted, everything on demand only. Therefore you might have to calculate some waiting time in, but will be rewarded with a hot and fresh cooked meal, what’s better than that?
By default the Cheese Veggie Sandwich by Five Guys is served in a toasted golden bun, topped with grilled onions, mushrooms, green peppers with melted American-style cheese with lettuce and tomatoes. Plus any amount of the extra, free, 16 toppings. These are: Mayo, Lettuce, Pickles, Tomatoes, Grilled Onions, Grilled Mushrooms, Ketchup, Mustard, Relish, Onions, Jalapeño Peppers, Green Peppers, Bar-B-Que Sauce, Hot Sauce & A1 Sauce.
After my very first experience with Five Guys in Paris, where I have already had a Veggie Cheese Sandwich, I ordered it without green peppers and tomatoes, but with raw onions and barbecue sauce. A good decision, it was so tasty! I could have eaten another one right away, the ingredients just worked so well together. Maybe I will try additional Mayo and Relish the next time… you’ll definitely be able to read about it here 🙂
