Shuttle bus from Train Station Gare TGV Aix-en-Provence to Aix City Centre

How to get from the Aix-en-Provence Gare TGV train station to the city centre of Aix? preferably the cheapest and fastest way? It’s by bus! When first researching my connections from Nice to Aix-en-Provence, and realizing the Gare TGV train station is exactly 20 km outside the city centre, I was very hesitant even going on this trip. How is this supposed to be manageable? Especially, as an Uber would cost me between 30 and 40€ per ride. Luckily, I found out about the fast bus connection from Gare TGV to AIX EN Pce – Gare Routière station, the local coach station. Every 30 minutes a bus departs right from under the TGV station, with only two stops in between, which lets you arrive just ~ 20 minutes later a 5-minute walk from La Rotonde in the city centre of Aix. The arrival/departure is at bus platforms 11 and 12.

The line 40 shuttle bus operates almost 20 hours a day, starting with the first departures around 5 am, and the latest arrivals around midnight/half past 1 in the morning. For exact arrival and departure times, check out this pdf online. the description is in French only, but very understandable even if you don’t speak French.

The price per adult is 4,30€ for one ride or 6,90€ return. It’s also possible to buy tickets for 10 rides, or even monthly or yearly subscriptions. You will find all examples and prices in the pdf document linked in the paragraph above. I can definitely recommend the shuttle bus from Gare TGV to Aix Coach station, as it’s fast and convenient.
