New: Entrance Fee to Pantheon in Rome from July 2023 onwards

As a measure to cope with the sheer masses of tourists, wanting to visit the Pantheon, the Ministry of Culture and the Chapter of the Basilica of Santa Maria ad Martyres-Pantheon have decided on an entrance fee to the Pantheon in Rome from July 2023 onwards. The basic ticket is 5 Euros and can be paid right before entering the building. However, it’s cashless, to be paid with a card only. Be aware this won’t guarantee a fast entry, as during peak season (summer especially) the waiting time to enter the Pantheon might still be around 1 to 2 hours.
On the official website of the Pantheon, you are able to purchase Guided Tour Tickets, for 20 Euros, or an Audioguide Visit for 10 Euros. But please read the details precisely, as the entrance fee is not included (as of right now) to prevent unpleasant surprises on site.
