A good location of your Hotel in Paris is definitely necessary. More than in other cities? Well, maybe. Paris is an easily walkable city, and having your place to stay within reach of the main sights you want to cover, you are saving so much on transportation costs. Hotel Rooms in Paris can be very small, therefore a little research beforehand can save you from being crammed in a teeny tiny room. For my recent trip to Paris I chose to stay at 9 Hotel Opera, in Rue Papillon in the “area” of the Opera Garnier (about 1 km to walk). As I was traveling alone I stayed at one of their five “Single Rooms” with Courtyard View, bigger rooms have better views and probably less kitchen smells outside their windows. Those rooms are all equipped with a 120x190cm bed, air conditioning, 32″ LCD TV, Safety desposit right by the bed, a shower and all rooms are non-smoking. Free WiFi is available all over the Hotel, it worked quite fine most of the time, however, at night it sometimes completely disappeared.
