Dinner at CRACKERS Berlin Restaurant & Bar

CRACKERS is one of Berlins ‘best kept Restaurant secrets’. Have you ever entered a Restaurant bypassing the kitchen and the Chefs greeting you super welcoming? The atmosphere at CRACKERS Berlin is very trendy, cool and berlin-ish, with great music mixed live by a DJ. Foodwise they offer a small menu but you can be assured to enjoy a nice and relaxed evening there, combined with excellent drinks and cocktails.

An inconspicuous door just off Friedrichstraße, unter den Linden, in ‘Mitte‘ leads through a black corridor to the restaurant. It’s a big room with no windows, black walls and just a few lamps hanging from the ceiling. The atmosphere at CRACKERS Berlin is intimate and there are tables for just two people, larger ones for groups and stools at the bar. To combine a party night with a great dinner, there are DJ dinner sets on Fridays and Saturdays. As I went to CRACKERS Berlin with a Group I was not able to choose my own dishes for the evening, as we had an own menu which was great. To check out their current menu, there is an English version on their website.

The evening started with drinks, of course. For Aperitif, we were able to choose between an Ice G and Elektro Bellini, or just start off with the 2014 German White Wine. Starters were served on our table and everyone was able to try as much as they wanted. As a vegetarian, my favourite was the salad of leafy greens with apples in a wasabi-soy sauce dressing with sunflower seeds and the Burrata with black truffles, cabernet sauvignon vinegar and rye bread. The salad tasted fresh but a little spicy and the burrata was just so delicious. As a main dish, I’ve chosen the Black Risotto with smoked radicchio and Belper Knolle (which is a very special cheese). For the main dish, the sides were again placed on the table for everyone to indulge, such as potato gratin, french fries with rosemary salt, green beans with almonds and basil and glazed carrots. Another highlight was the warm chocolate mousse and vanilla ice cream, next to the Amalfi lemon sorbet with vodka. If you have the chance, and still a little space in your tummy after Dinner at CRACKERS in Berlin, try the warm chocolate mousse, it’s heavenly good.

Personally, I can highly recommend CRACKERS Berlin and if you want to enjoy a nice evening there as well I suggest to book a table in advance via their website.
