The views from the 27th floor at Intercontinental The City in Doha’s West Bay couldn’t have been any more stunning. Both the impressive skyscraper skyline including the nearby beach have been constantly in my sight, all while the air-conditioning was cooling my room at a pleasing temperature. Outside temperatures in Doha can be tough in summer, but already in Spring, the weather can be quite intense. Arriving at Intercontinental The City late at night I could barely witness the fine interior, however, everyone I encountered was super friendly as if they just started their shift. Upon entering the building of Intercontinental The City you have to pass a security control as at airports, security first. This time, I have booked my stay directly through Qatar Airways, withing their +Qatar Discover Qatar Program. More on this soon.
The main features of my modernly decorated Standard Room are complimentary Wi-Fi and a coffee maker. What I really appreciated were the multiple and daily restocked water bottles, a very nice extra touch. Of course the room also featured a minibar and in the bathroom slippers, a robe and free toiletries.
