Nox Mobility is about to revolutionise European Night Trains

Imagine waking up refreshed in a new European metropolis, free from jet lag or airport chaos. Sounds like future music? The Berlin startup Nox Mobility aims to make this a reality by 2027, fundamentally transforming European night train travel. Gone are the overcrowded open compartments and high prices – enter private spaces at the cost of a flight ticket. This vision has the potential to sustainably shape how we travel.

The Nox Vision: Privacy, Efficiency, and Attractive Prices

The concept of night trains is fascinating: gliding through the continent while you sleep and arriving at your destination refreshed in the morning. But the reality often looked different: cramped beds, shared compartments with strangers, and prices that surpassed air travel. This is exactly where Nox comes in. Founders Thibault Constant and Janek Smalla have made it their mission to reinvent the night train from the ground up. Their goal is to make night trains a firm part of sustainable long-distance travel and Train Travel in Europe.

At the core of Nox’s philosophy are three values: privacy, efficiency, and a good price.

  • Privacy: Every Nox compartment will be a completely private space. Beds are two meters long, there are separate seats with tables, and enough room for luggage and to stand up. A special highlight will be planned double beds and compartments with direct panoramic views – comfort previously missing on night trains.
  • Efficiency: Janek Smalla, who helped build FlixTrain, brings his expertise in optimizing and scaling rail services. Through intelligent design that allows more travelers per train and a strict focus on standardization and operational efficiency, Nox aims to offer attractive prices.
  • Good Price: The ambitious goal: ticket prices that can compete with short-haul flights. This means the night train will no longer be a niche for enthusiasts but a real alternative for the masses.

The founders of Nox Mobility

Behind Nox are two experienced individuals who know the mobility sector inside and out:

  • Janek Smalla: As co-founder of FlixTrain, Janek played a key role in opening up the German railway market. His deep experience in commercial strategy and operational scaling in the rail sector is invaluable to Nox. His vision is clear: sustainable travel must not only be greener but also better – it must surpass flying in terms of price, comfort, and reliability.
  • Thibault Constant: Known as “Simply Railway” on YouTube and Instagram with over half a million followers, Thibault is an internationally recognized night train expert. With over 400 night train journeys worldwide and a book about his experiences, he brings the traveler’s perspective and a deep understanding of passenger needs. He knows firsthand that demand for night trains is enormous, even if the offering hasn’t been optimal until now.

Your Way to Nox: Secure Early Info and Benefits

Nox has already secured its first carriages and is in the final stages of interior design. The next major funding round is planned for autumn.

Interested travelers can already find information on future schedules, detailed compartment information, and prices on noxmobility.com. The free “Early Bird Club” is particularly exciting, giving you access to exclusive updates, discounts, and early bookings. A great opportunity to be part of this travel revolution!

Will Nox become the “FlixBus for night trains”? The signs are promising. With a clear focus on travelers’ needs, an experienced founding team, and a strong vision, Nox could significantly shape European long-distance travel and create an attractive alternative for sustainable travel.

We’re looking forward to 2027!
