Immenstadt im Allgäu is a hiking paradise for nature-lovers and if you want to stay at the Hotel with the probably best view on the Alpsee you should definitely consider Panorama Hotel Rothenfels in Immenstadt im Allgäu as your Place to stay. Located close to “Bühl am Alpsee” the Hotel is located in a close distance of less than 1 km to the shores of the Lake and surrounded by nature. For every Hotel Guest the swimming pool and saunas are included, another reason, for me, to stay at this Hotel.
There are loads of parking spaces around the Hotel but I’ve chosen to walk the 20 minutes from the Train Station of Immenstadt. Trains both from Munich and Lindau at Lake of Constance are stopping there on a regular basis. Not just to enjoy and see more of the City, but also because I didn’t want to look up for any bus and having to pay for it et cetera. The Check-In went fast and within minutes I stood in my Room, with a view on the Alpsee and the Konstanzer Tal. Besides a single-bed, I had a wardrobe, a desk with a chair (to work) and a wall-mounted Flatscreen TV. When booking your Room at Panorama Hotel Rothenfels, make sure to book a “South” Room, instead of a north-directed room, as only the south-rooms have the view over the Lake and the valley. For my room, I paid 70 euros per night, including free usage of the swimming pool, their saunas and a breakfast buffet the other day. For more Pictures of the view, scroll down (or touch, if you are reading from a mobile device), check them out and understand I was excited to wake up to this view again.
But before It was time to go to bed, and to wake up the other day, I went to have Dinner at the Hotel Restaurant. I don’t always go to Restaurants at Hotels, but as I was quite a bit
exhausted tired after my walking and exploring the City I didn’t want to walk back to the city centre to eat something, so I stayed in the house. Being in Bavaria I couldn’t avoid having some traditional Allgäu Kässpätzn. A highlight was definitely their salad bar, from where you can curate your own side-salad. Their Restaurant is open from Monday to Friday from 2 pm to 9 pm and on the weekend and during bank holidays from 12 am to 9 pm.
And right continuing with the food, the breakfast buffet is served in the same room and it offered a selection of slices of bread, cheese, german cut sausages (ham, salami, lyoner,..), some fresh fruits, cereals and more. But unfortunately, I had no coffee. There was a machine behind the counter, so I didn’t go there, but there was no one around to order something. Weird…
My stay at Panorama Hotel Rothenfels Immenstadt im Allgäu was, based on the Hotel itself pleasant, but as there was no WiFi in my room (210), even though they advertise “high-speed wireless internet in every room” I will probably try another Hotel in Immenstadt, with an actual working internet, as soon as I’m staying in the Allgäu area of Bavaria again. You can find some nice Hotels in the Allgäu Area here.
If you want to spend some extra-special time there, they are offering special packages. Their “New Years Arrangement I” offers 4 nights, from Dec 30th to January 3rd including a huge New Years Gala-Dinner with a DJ later that evening and more starting from 359€ per Person in a double room.
