Have you ever tried the Veggie Burger by Burger King? It might not be a surprise if you haven’t, as, somehow, the Burger King Country Burger is kind of part of an (actually not so) “Secret Menu”. It took years until someone pointed out the other big fast food chain, next to McDonald’s, offers a meat-free burger, as it was never advertised or visible in the Restaurants. However, a closer look is necessary to spot the burger on their menu with all the items they offer. It might sound cheesy but I still remember the first time I tried the Veggie Country Burger by Burger King in Germany. It’s hot they said when they handed me the blue tray with this fresh and steaming hot Burger. As the demand isn’t that high, what a surprise if it’s not even advertised, Country Burgers are always freshly made on demand, which also guarantees an always fresh burger. The time to fry the big patty, and until it’s ready to be served, is usually about 5 to 7 minutes, which is still okay as you really get a freshly prepared burger.
The Country Burger by Burger King is made of a regular sesame seed bun and filled with a generously patted patty (made out of various veggies such as carrots, peas, …) and topped with whole onions, sliced pickles, sliced tomato and some cut salad. On request they will add a slice of cheese for an extra 0,50€, what I always order (it’s now simply a “Country Burger with Cheese”). The combination of the rich but crispy patty, the fresh onions and the melted cheese are just delicious and as the Burger is so mighty I can mostly barely finish it, yet only order a small portion of King Fries, as they are also so crispy and good. I can definitely recommend the Veggie Country Burger by Burger King in Germany and order it as often as possible!
If you are wondering about the calories of this truly massive Veggie Burger, without cheese it has 2.163,8 kJ or 516,1 kCal, but also 11.7 g Protein, 6.0 g fibre and 3.7 g Salt.
So far I have found alternative Veggie Burger at Burger King Restaurants worldwide, such as a Veggie Bean Burger & Kids Veggie Burger in the UK, HALLOUMI KING & Veggie Pepper in Sweden, Veggie Whopper & Vegan Cheeseburger by Hungy Jack’s in Australia, a Veggie Burger in Thailand or a Bean Burger in Bahrein. To no one’s surprise, Burger King in India offers a stunning collection of 8 different Veggie Burgers. It’s about time to try those, too!
