Eat this Veggie Döner Kebab in Berlin Kreuzberg!

Perhaps the most famous kebab stand in the German capital city is Mustafas Gemüse Kebab in Berlin Kreuzberg. At peak times, you apparently have to queue for up to 2 hours for a kebab. Since the vegetable kebab is supposed to be so good, I visited it during my last visit to Berlin and I have to say: they are right, the people who queue hours for it. This Veggie Döner Kebab is definitely SO good!

Where to find the famous Veggie Döner Kebab in Berlin

An almost rather inconspicuous-looking kebab stand near the entrance to the Mehringdamm underground station. On the houses next door there are also snack bars and restaurants. And also, a kebab shop. But all of them are no competition against Mustafa’s Vegetable Kebab.

Mustafa’s Gemüse Kebap at noon

My plan was to visit Mustafa’s Vegetable Kebab in Berlin Kreuzberg outside the typical meal times, i.e. before half past noon or again after 2 pm. Although not quite as planned, I arrived at the kebab stand at 11:40 am and about 10 people were already in the queue, resulting in a wait time of just 9 minutes. The closer I got to the beginning of the queue, the more smells I could detect. And I already saw the coveted vegetables. I also noticed that the really huge meat skewer also had pieces of vegetables in it. Vegetables through and through, that’s what Mustafa’s Döner Imbiss definitely does. And then it was my turn, I ordered a vegetable kebab without tomatoes and very soon, the famous Veggie Döner Kebab was finally mine. The repertoire of sauces is quite extensive, for a mobile Kebab stand, as they offer Sesame yoghurt, sweet paprika, curry mango, tzatziki, garlic and hummus. Review: how I liked my Veggie Döner Kebab in Berlin by Mustafa’s Gemüse Kebab in Kreuzberg

The vegetable kebab consisted of crusty bread, not a sloppy warmed-up one like you usually get. This then is filled with various creamy to hearty sauces, some salad, feta cheese and a lot of vegetables. As I could see, the grilled vegetables – potatoes, peppers, carrots, spring onions and more – were prepared in a deep fryer.

Healthy (* apart from being deep-fried …) vegetables and delicious, that’s what this famous Veggie Döner Kebab in Berlin, by Mustafa’s Gemüse Kebab, combines. Everything is freshly prepared, so there is a certain waiting time, which is definitely worth it. I probably wouldn’t wait in line for two hours, because by then I’d have suffered from hunger, but I’d definitely wait up to half an hour.

Mustafa’s Gemüse Kebab is priced at 7,10 € with chicken or 6,30 € without, for the veggie-only version. And the price-performance ratio is simply right. I can recommend Mustafa’s Gemüse Kebab in Berlin Kreuzberg to anyone.
