Located in the emerging hip area De Pijp district Design Hotel Sir Albert Amsterdam is literally a jewel among the Hotels in Amsterdam. Located in a former diamond factory the Hotel offers exquisite hospitality in an outstanding Interior. Another nice Detail is the in-house Restaurant IZAKAYA offering an Asian Kitchen & a Bar.

Sir Albert Amsterdam is located in an area with many restaurants, cafés and small shops. In a walking distance of a few hundred meters there is the famous Museumplein. Van Gogh Museum, MoCo with its current Warhol and Banksy Exhibition or the Rijksmuseum, you can visit the Museum or just relax on the grass just as the locals do. From the Outside the building does not look like a typical Hotel, it rather feels like entering a mansion. The Check-In Desk can be found on the left, after entering, on the right there is the IZAKAYA Restaurant. The Staff was super friendly, offering water or a glass of champagne, and giving tips on places to visit. Among the welcome letter every guest receives a free city map of Amsterdam. To get around Amsterdam I can recommend Car2Go, UBER or the BRT-Buses.

My Room was a double room of the ‘SIR BOUTIQUE’-category. It’s the smallest available room with a size of 20sqm. The room features a double bed, air condition, a desk and a chair, a bathroom with shower/bathtub and hairdryer as well as a private minibar and an illy coffee machine. The WiFi was fast during my visit and free all over in the building. The interiors at Sir Albert have that warm, welcoming but hard-to-achieve look of the world traveler who has found rare gems on his journeys and assembled them together over many years. The residence of this globetrotter includes pieces of furniture from Italian manufacturers, like Maxalto, Moroso, Ceccotti, and limited edition works from assorted standout Dutch designers, such as Piet Hein Eek and Joy van Erven. More Information on the Rooms can be found on the Hotels Website.

The breakfast buffet is served in the IZAKAYA Restaurant, with a varied breakfast buffet (the croissant are amazing) as well as egg dishes that are prepared on request. In the evening you can enjoy a meal and/or a Drink or two with great music. I really enjoyed my stay at Sir Albert Amsterdam and I can’t wait to stay there anytime again!
