Should you try the Veggie Burger by In-N-Out, the Grilled Cheese? In-N-Out Burger is known for its uber-delicious beef burgers, and home to the state of California in the United States. It’s a tradition to so many, to stop at an In-N-Out in Los Angeles either first thing after landing, or the last one before flying out again. For a long time, there has been a huge myth around their “secret menu”. Actually, it’s not that secret anymore as they even put some of their “secret” options on their website. Those include a Grilled Cheese for Vegetarians or additional options such as Animal Style or 3×3 which means 3 times cheese and 3 times beef per burger.
Review: In-N-Out Grilled Cheese Animal Style and Fries Animal Style
It was still before noon, just something after 11 o’clock, when I encountered the In-N-Out Burger Restaurant neat Studio City in Los Angeles, at Cahuenga Boulevard. To my huge surprise, the Restaurant was packed. As I later found out, a group of tourists flooded the Restaurant, and blocked every table in- and outside. As every Burger at In-N-Out is freshly made, it takes a while until the orders are ready. Enough time for others to finish their meals and chances on free tables and chairs. As a Vegetarian, I tried the only vegetarian Burger option at In-N-Out Burger Los Angeles, a Grilled Cheese. It’s a bun filled with two slices of melted American cheese, hand-leafed lettuce, tomato, spread, with or without onions. To get the full In-N-Out Experience in Los Angeles I went for a Grilled Cheese Animal Style and Fries Animal Style. Animal Style adds pickles, extra spread and a good portion of grilled onions. Animal Style is available both for Burgers and Fries.
After around 10 minutes of waiting time, there were like 6 orders ahead of mine, I received the shining red tray with my cheesy goods. I skipped the extra jalapenos and went to sit outside in the sun, to eat a burger, in December. After just some Pictures I took the first bite of the seductive looking Grilled Cheese. Oh, that’s cold. Now I wanted to grab a cheesy fries. Oh, the Cheese is already hard, and un-melted, again. What a disappointment. Either it was my short Photo Session or the “cold weather” outside, but both my fries and burger were cold. I only managed to eat the fries with American cheese and spread on top, by holding the top part in my hand and eating it bite by bite. Hopefully, no one saw me eating like this… Therefore, what an unpleasant first experience for me at In-N-Out in California, but as everyone else seems to utterly love it, I will have to give it a second try, and pray to find an available seat inside. Maybe they are planning on expanding to Dubai, with temperatures of around 40 degrees outside my burger will hopefully stay tasteable there. Luckily there are still plenty of other Restaurants in Los Angeles.
In-N-Out Secret Menu
The Team at SeriosEats have even tried every single item on the In-N-Out Secret Menu and reviewed it, obviously. They even added a picture of everything, you might want to have a look at it here.
