The summer time is an ideal time for a roadtrip! Pack a car with your stuff and friends, and hit the road. Drive for hours, listen to good songs and don’t stop until you park right by the beach or in the middle of the most beautiful nature. Before finalising your Road Trip Planning for 2017, there is one thing to consider. As I assume that there is one security feature you might not think about when planning a roadtrip. It’s the Tires! Am I right, that’s something you don’t think about? Roadtrip snacks, how many km you can drive per fully filled tank, but definitely not the tires!?
While having a modern Car with all the latest security aspects is very helpful, probably the most important security feature of any car are good tires. Yes, there is a reason tires should usually not be older than 8 years, with a certain minimum of rubber left on them. In late May Tire Company Firestone invited me to Barcelona, to test drive, and experience, their newest model, the Firestone Roadhawk. After an almost full day of driving and testing, we ended the night at Primavera Sound Music Festival, about which I already wrote.
In 2014, Firestone committed to re-energising its brand in Europe by investing in its products, lineup and activations. In only three and a half years, Firestone stayed true to its commitment to invest in its brand and Roadhawk is the sixth tyre that it introduced to the market.
Roadhawk is a tyre for everyone and the result of feedback collected from more than 1.000 European drivers. After extensive market research, it became clear that drivers want a tyre with long-lasting performance. From wet weather conditions to stop-and-go traffic and highway driving, drivers need a touring tyre that they can count on and feel safe going the distance with. Roadhawk is that tyre; it completes Firestone’s updated product lineup.
Roadhawk is engineered to provide long-lasting performance throughout its lifespan. Independently tested by TÜV SÜD, Roadhawk outperforms its competitors in wet conditions after 20,000 kilometres of wear. It also offers up to 20% better wear performance than its predecessor Firestone TZ300. Also, it’s lightweight carcas is tuned for low rolling resistance, which reduces fuel consumption. Following the trend for larger rims on family cars and touring models, Roadhawk will cover 15” to 19” rim sizes.
“Roadhawk is a tyre that you can always count on; it’s like a best friend, and just like true friendship, Roadhawk is built to perform longer” shares Thierry Jupsin, Director of Brands Marketing at Bridgestone Europe.
