Design Hotels can be quite expensive. But there is a possibility to still stay at them, you only have to buy the cheapest room category. My Double Room at Roomers Design Hotel Baden-Baden was the cheapest hotel room, and definitely also the smallest. The modern Design Hotel just opened last year, which is a nice addition to all the other, more traditional, Hotels in town. Located at Lange Straße you can reach the city centre after just a 15-minute walk, or by taking a Taxi/Bus of course. By entering the Hotel you are greeted by a very spacious Room, with many nice design items and the view on a pool table. At first, I intentionally wanted to walk to the Concierge bar table, which I figured out later, but the reception area is to found on the left with several public Tables. Immediately we were offered some refreshments to enjoy during the check-in process, how nice. Just minutes later we were able to proceed to our room on the second floor, a Select Room. The key feature, according to their website, is a small Sofa and a Bathroom with passable rain shower.

Entering the Hotel Room we found a corridor with sleek doors on the right, with the living/bedroom to your front. One of the many doors of the corridor led to the bathroom, with a Sink without storage facilities. Unfortunately, Design isn’t always about practicality. And there it was, the passable rain shower. Of course with provided bathrobes and slippers, and, a huge window to the bedroom. If the purpose is to watch people having a shower, or watching people sleeping while showering, who knows. But luckily you can close this window from next to the bed, not from inside the shower/bathroom.
Well, leaving and closing the door was somehow quite tricky. The doors are super heavy and at first, the door didn’t lock. We opened and closed, opened and closed, but nothing happened. Then at some point, it was locked and could not be opened again. How did it happen? We had no idea. Just once something like a needle came out the wall, I pressed it in again and the door was locked, but this happened just 1 time out of probably 10.

[…] At this luxury sunday brunch breakfast at Roomers Baden-Baden I definitely always go all-in and try to pick something of everything. There are so many choices, just one big plate is not enough. Never enough, but it’s filling. Oh my. Everything tastes just too fresh and good, you can’t stop indulging. But at one point you have, as the breakfast buffet also offers a small sweet corner. One of those little apple muffins still fits, with a second cup of coffee, or two to be honest. A breakfast buffet with such varied offers, simply invites you to extend a simple breakfast into a brunch. Just sit and enjoy the delicious food, for hours. […]
