My new favourite Veggie Sushi, the Vegan Veggie roll set by Wasabi UK in London! Finding sushi without fish can be quite tricky sometimes, especially if you want something else than cucumber hosomaki. Some time ago I discovered the “No Sushi” by Kreative Reisrollen in southern Germany (they even offer Sushi Burgers), but the prices once again remind you sushi is definitely something exquisite. Luckily Wasabi UK offers Sushi and Snacks at a more affordable price point, made fresh and handmade daily. If this isn’t already a good reason to finally visit Wasabi UK?! The fact that they offer various vegan- and vegetarian-friendly options just convinced me even more.
To try their Vegan Veggie roll set Sushi I went to their branch at London’s O2. Thinking it might not be busy on a weekday evening I was absolutely wrong. This place is packed, even on a Tuesday evening, wow! By entering The O2 through the main entrance you have to follow the “food galley” on the right until about halfway, to finally find Wasabi (right across Five Guys, for orientation). Just as the other Restaurants nearby Wasabi at O2 was quite busy, but not fully packed. Upon entering the store I found a queue standing nearby refrigerated display cases that already looked pretty empty. Some pre-packed boxes had labels, some not, so I had to guess which was which, but eventually found my Vegan Veggie roll set (there were only 2 boxes left). As I wasn’t sure if soy sauce was included I grabbed each an additional package of soy sauce and ginger, as well as a single packet of vegetarian Japanese omelette nigiri. With just £3.95 for the Veggie Sushi Set, less than £1 for the single Nigiri and £0.10 for the extra soy sauce, the ginger was free, I only paid less than 5 pounds for my dinner. With the incredible taste and fairly excellent price, I can absolutely recommend Wasabi and I can’t wait to eat their sushi anytime soon again!

[…] The falafel wrap by LEON Heathrow at the main London Airport was so delicious, next time I’ll travel extra early to enjoy the wrap once again! Several hours at an airport, what can you do? With access rights to a lounge, you get free food & drinks, can use power outlets, surf the web or work, and of course have a place to sit. If you are “not this privileged”, like most passengers at an airport waiting for a flight, you often have to battle for a seat, or queue for hours for food. Happily not so in my case during the afternoon in Terminal 2 of London’s Heathrow Airport. Only a few people were in line ahead of me, with still a few seats available, too. Jackpot. LEON offers “naturally fast food”, i.e. natural based and quick food. It should be mentioned that LEON is not a purely vegan or even purely vegetarian restaurant/snack bar, you also get meat like chicken or fish. But still, most of the dishes are rather healthy, which is great. Other recommended restaurants in London are Gourmet Burger Kitchen, Patty&Bun or Wasabi. […]
