Almost avant-garde straight lines define the body, yet it looks youthful and dynamic. You are probably unsure when you first see the C40 Recharge Pure Electric. There are many SUV-like cars, and electric cars are becoming more and more common. But such a chic car, then a little higher but not massive, and purely electrically driven. The Volvo C40 Recharge Pure Electric is one we will be seeing a lot of on the roads in the future. Or maybe it will soon be in our own garage? Read below my driving impression of the Volvo C40 Recharge Pure Electric, driven both in the city centre of Hamburg and on a short road trip into the surrounding countryside and on the motorway. Urban traffic, and a trip to the countryside or a neighbouring town. Regular activities that you undertake with your car. And no less with an electric car, or perhaps even more so?
My Test Drive with the Volvo C40 electric car in Hamburg
The C40 Recharge Pure Electric from the Swedish car manufacturer Volvo is an SUV crossover-coupe and differs from the XC40 model mainly at the rear. The sloping roof edge is visually the biggest distinguishing feature from the outside. Style factor of the Volvo C40 Recharge Pure Electric
Is the Volvo C40 stylish? You bet it is! With so many different SUVs on our roads these days, sport utility vehicles like to have something visually different. The coupe shape of the Volvo C40 makes it stand out from the crowd. The few but perfectly placed accent lines on the body make it look sporty and not bulky.
Inside, the C40 impresses with a refined and unagitated interior. Not too many buttons, not too many bells and whistles, just what you need.
Price & consumption of the Volvo C40 Recharge Pure Electric
The base price of the C40 Recharge starts at €45,280 or €609 per month on a personal subscription, or €511 as a business subscription. Included in this subscription is flexible vehicle ownership, including insurance and service. The annual mileage can be selected between 10,000 km/year and 60,000 km/year. You can choose in each case whether it is a
contract period of 36 months or a flexible contract with only 3 months’ notice. So if you want, you can “test” for a few months whether a purely electric car is really as great and practical as it is 😉
I can’t say anything about the test consumption of my test drive with the Volvo C40 Recharge Pure Electric, as I don’t have any comparative values. However, a range of 430 km is stated. The battery is charged from 10 to 80 % in just over half an hour. So it only takes a short lunch break and the car can drive hundreds of kilometres again.
Test-drive summary of the Volvo C40 Recharge Pure Electric
When you feel comfortable in a car, you don’t want to give it up. The size of the C40 is almost perfect for me personally. After all, it is a rather large SUV with a width of 1.87 metres and a length of 4.4 metres. But maybe Volvo will soon launch a smaller car anyway…
But until then, the Volvo C40 Recharge Pure Electric is an ideal electric car for those who don’t want a “big” SUV, i.e. who don’t always travel with 5 people and a lot of luggage. Ideal for singles or couples who still want to drive one of the safest cars and enjoy the benefits of a crossover coupe. Stylish, safe, electric – what more could you want?
