Do you fancy a Rooftop Pool in the Heart of Rome with a view of the Colosseum? Then book a Room at Mercure Roma Centro Colosseo. While it was just around 15 degrees, right now in February, I dreamed of how amazing it must be to chill on this Rooftop, or even take a dip in the Pool, while the Italian sun turns everything in a warm yellow shade. The honking taxi driver are in far distance and you are just relaxing with a Drink and livin’ the sweet La Dolce Vita Life. I definitely have to stay at this Hotel, Mercure Roma Centro Colosseo, again in the summer months.

Staying at a Hotel with Colosseum Views in Rome

As the name already says, Hotel Mercure Roma Centro Colosseo is located close to the city centre of Rome, about right next to the famous amphitheatre in the capital of Italy. Either arriving by Metro (the closest Stop is Colosseum) or by Car (there is a car park below the Hotel), the Hotel can be easily reached. 161 Rooms are located up to the 7th floor, the 8th Floor is the Rooftop which couldn’t be accessed during my visit.
Even though I arrived at the Hotel shortly after noon, Check-In was already possible and within just a few minutes I experienced a state of shock. Once I arrived at my Room on the 7th Floor and opened the curtains, I could not believe it. From my Hotel Room at Mercure Roma Centro Colosseo, I had a full view of the Colosseum. It felt so close, almost as if I could touch it.

My Room was one of the Category: ‘Superior Room with a view of the Colosseum’. Besides the view, which is complimentary, the Room features air conditioning, an LCD TV with satellite channels, a laptop safe, a minibar and a kettle with complimentary Tea/Coffee. As the recent renovations were completed in 2013 my Room still had a new and modern look during my visit in February of 2017. Everything was still in great condition and upon my arrival, I was greeted with a Welcome Letter, Cookies and a Bottle of San Pellegrino (sparkling water) and Aqua di Panna (still water).
How could it be different, WiFi is complimentary for every guest and during check-in, I received a voucher with my personal Code. This Code is usable for up to 6 devices, this should be enough for at least 2 people staying in a Room. If not I bet you will receive another one. Breakfast is not complimentary for everyone at Mercure Roma Centro Colosseo, but you can either pre-book it for a reduced rate or just grab their ‘Express Breakfast’ (‘Colazione Express’) for 6€.
