Only until October 28th, you are able to enjoy the exhibition le Jardin mécanique by Latifa Echakhch at Art Museum Villa Sauber Monaco. Villa Sauber, part of Nouveau Musée National de Monaco, can be found nearby Grimaldi Forum in the western part of the country. The exhibition, specifically conceived for Villa Sauber, combines references to the development of modern Monte-Carlo – such as the construction of the Opéra Garnier and the luxuriant gardens of exotic plants – with the artists’ own impressions and childhood memories.
Villa Sauber is one of the last Belle Epoque villas in Monaco. In the absence of indisputable documentation, we do not know the precise date of the Villa’s construction. However, it is stated that at the beginning of the 1900’s it belonged to the Blanc family who played a fundamental part in the development of the Société des Bains de Mer and the Casino of Monte-Carlo.
