Travel Diary: 1 hour in Bad Wörishofen, Bavarian Allgäu

Bad Wörishofen is a small Town in the Bavarian Allgäu. Situated in between Munich and Ulm it lays just a few kilometers off the Autobahn A96. Therefore it’s a perfect spot to rest if you don’t want to relax at motorway rest stops. Personally I absolutely prefer to drive a few kilometers on country roads and discover a City I’ve never been to, instead of a hectic break at a Motorway Restaurant. With just 15 000 inhabitants Bad Wörishofen is indeed a smaller Town, but all year round there are just so many Tourists. Bad Wörishofen is also a Kneipstadt as the famous Sebastian Kneipp used to work in this town. He is the inventor of the ‘Kneipp Cure’, a therapy in form of various methods in combination with water.

During previous Trips to the Bavarian Allgäu I recently visited Restaurant Forelle in Dorschhausen, and now the City Center of Bad Wörishofen. In the Past I’ve also shared my Tips on cheap Train Travel in Bavaria.

During my brief visit to Bad Wörishofen I mainly walked around Town, without any serious focus. I went to a supermarket to buy some drinks and as it was still a hot summer afternoon I had Ice-Cream at Kneippstraße, one of the main shopping streets. Due to the focus on health and health tourism most Tourists are ‘old’, nevertheless there is a Cinema in Town and each a big Amusement Park (Allgäu Skyline Park) and Water Park (Therme Bad Wörishofen) very close.
