Walking along Walk of Fame on Hollywood Boulevard is a must do for many Tourists in Los Angeles. So far, only knowing this street with the stars of all the famous artists, I expected it to be so glamorous. So fancy, so exclusive, an honourable place to honour exceptional celebrities. Wow, what was I shocked arriving at the famous Walk of Fame in Los Angeles! Well, how is it like to visit Walk of Fame? It’s very touristy, that’s for sure. There are multiple promoters literally dragging you into joining their Sightseeing Bus Tours or wanting you at their Restaurants. It’s quite possible you’re talked to my several people at once, which can be so annoying. If you want to buy cheesy souvenirs, like postcards, miniature Oscars for “best dad” or “best wife”, you’re also right at Walk of Fame. Or maybe you want to buy a Marilyn Monroe wig or visit an erotic shop? Walk of Fame is there for you! But honestly, I was just so disgusted by Walk of Fame on Hollywood Boulevard Los Angeles. It’s no clean walkway at all, so much dirt and rubbish, poor people begging for money, in between all the promoters next to closed or doubtful storefronts. I definitely expected something chicer. And, to top it all off, the first persons’ star on Walk of Fame I recognised was the one by current US President Donald Trump. Later I also saw the one by Marilyn Monroe. Another thing I disliked about Walk of Fame was that the names of the Stars aren’t all aligned in one direction. So, if you’re casually walking along Walk of Fame, you often have to turn your head as some stars and names point in one direction, and one in 180 degrees in the other direction. And who else loves walking behind people that suddenly stop, just to read a name on the street…
My conclusion on visiting Walk of Fame in Los Angeles is, visit it only if you have to, or want to see the star of your most adored celebrity in real life. Otherwise, just buy a postcard with pictures of the Walk of Fame. Places you might visit near Walk of Fame are the Chinese Theatre, Hard Rock Cafe (both Hollywood and Los Angeles shirts are available), or have a Burger at Shake Shack.
