Qatar Airways Flight QR906 was greeted with beautiful sunny weather and a traditional water cannon salute at Canberra Airport. Canberra marks the fifth destination for the Qatari Airline Qatar Airways in Australia, after Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney. The Innagural Flight to Canberra took off in Doha on February 11th and descended beautifully into the Australian capital on February 12th, 2018. Flight QR906 is not only the second international flight for Canberra Airport, the flight marks also the second daily connection to Sydney. As the runway in Canberra is too small for such a big aircraft to land, fully loaded, the Aircraft first stops in Sydney for a technical stop, and then proceeds, lighter in weight, to the final destination of Canberra. This technical stop in Sydney is also mandatory on the Route from Canberra to Doha, for final refuels in Sydney before starting on the long journey towards the middle east and Europe. With more than 150 destinations, and yearly more, travellers with Qatar Airways can nearly travel to every main city all over the world. The Route Doha-Sydney-Canberra and Canberra-Sydney-Doha will be from now on served on a daily basis.
