Portofino might be the most known town among the Cinque Terre in north-western Italy. The Cinque Terre, 5 charming towns, each nestled in between cliffs right by the water. One more stunning and picturesque than the other. Which, unfortunately, results in an overload in tourists. Some towns are even blocked for car traffic once the maximum of tourists is reached. Luckily I arrived at Portofino by boat and had not to deal with any transportation troubles. Arriving in Portofino by boat is actually the best way to arrive in this beautiful town. Already from afar, you can spot the colourful houses lined up on the harbour, which is constantly filled with interesting boats and yachts. Besides boats and people watching there is actually not that much to do, except eating and walking those calories off. Find below some snapshots of my trip to Portofino.
