Breakfast at Migros Restaurant in Switzerland

Migros is a big supermarket chain in Switzerland. You can find them in big malls, at gas stations or just in single stores in cities. Their bigger markets often have a Migros Restaurant, offering warm and cold dishes throughout the day. “My Migros” at Rheinpark near St.Gallen opens by 9 am, offering breakfast from 9 to 11 am. But, when I arrived at 10:35, Lunch was already offered, with only one small cart for breakfast. Salad Bar, Cakes, warm buffet and warm meals for individual order. Oh man, I’d have loved to see how much they actually offer in the morning. Anyways, I got a baguette with cheese and a 0,5l bottle to drink, and a Cappuccino. As Switzerland with its Swiss francs is relatively expensive, I had to pay almost 10 CHF, which is about equal to 10 Euros. For the price, my cheese baguette only had one slice of tomato, one sad leaf of salad and one slice of a pickled onion, which was a bit disappointing. But still, better than having nothing to eat.

Overall, I can definitely recommend having Lunch or Cake Time at Migros Restaurants in Switzerland. I have eaten there multiple times there for Lunch, often followed by something sweet (like these, ah, so good!), and got never disappointed. And regarding breakfast I’d recommend being there even earlier, to enjoy their full range.
