Parking for free in Hohenems

If you visit the small town of Hohenems in Vorarlberg, you usually have two options for arrival. You travel by train to Hohenems train station, or you travel by car via the motorway. Hohenems train station is actually the starting point for both modes of transport. Either you arrive by train in a climate-friendly way, or you can park your car at the free Park & ​​Ride car park. This free car park has space for 36 vehicles and is accessible 24/7. From Hohenems train station it is about 11 minutes by foot, or 0.8 kilometres, to the so to say city ​​centre, the palace. There are several restaurants and museums nearby. Or you can start a hike to the castle ruins of just under an hour from there. If you want to save yourself the walk from the train station, you could park closer to the city centre. The number of parking spaces is very limited here, however, and a parking space cannot be guaranteed in advance. Alternatively, there is the Post car park near the city centre of Hohenems, but the ÖAMTC app just displays the official car park at the train station.

If you want to visit a certain restaurant, there are usually a few parking spaces in the immediate vicinity, with enough lead time to your table reseration you should usually still have the chance of a free parking space. However, one should note that the parking spaces may be charged, depending on the hour.
