The Restaurant with (probably the best) view of St. Gallen is Falkenburg close to the Dreilinden Ponds. Situated on one of the hills enclosing St. Gallen the Restaurant can be easily reached from the City Centre by foot on walking paths or, more convenient, by Mühleggbahn. As it was both foggy and dark when I visited Restaurant Falkenburg you should check out my ‘Places with a view in St. Gallen’ Article as I already previously went to the Restaurant, to enjoy the views.

Restaurant Falkenburg in St. Gallen offers swiss cuisine with an international touch. During the Christmas Season, they offer a special Star-Themed menu, as St. Gallen is now Sternenstadt (City of the Stars). For sure you don’t need to visit the Restaurant for a Gourmet-Menu only. On their website you can find their English Menu. The menu started off with a soup, Consommé with vegetable brunoise. As I don’t eat meat I had their Spätzlepfanne ‘JägerArt’ with fresh forest mushrooms and herbs. Spätzle are traditional noodles and even though they are usually eaten as Kässpätzle the Spätzlepfanne by Restaurant Falkenburg St. Gallen was so good. Lots of Veggies, various mushrooms and a creamy sauce, so tasty! To enjoy the meals I had a Beer from a local Beer Brewery, Schützengarten St. Galler Klosterbräu. The Beer was light to drink and paired well with both the Spätzle and Soup. As Dessert, they served Cinnamon Panna Cotta with Portwine Plums. The star theme was going strong here as the Panna Cotta was served in a star-shape.

Dinner at Restaurant Falkenburg was very enjoyable. The Service was attentive, the Food delicious and the Location is, in theory, super nice as well. Unfortunately the fog held us back from enjoying all the flickering lights from Sternenstadt St. Gallen, with the 700 illuminated stars. Nevertheless, I’ll be back in St. Gallen and at Restaurant Falkenburg situated high above the Old Town.
