To find Places with a View in St. Gallen Switzerland you need to go up. Either with the Mühleggbahn or with your own feet by walking up the mountains. St. Gallen is situated close to Lake Constance but also close to big swiss mountains like the 2501,9 m high Säntis. Due to the hilly area, you get a great view of the City, the Lake and the other mountains within minutes of walking. Here I’m introducing you three Places I can recommend for great views on and a good view in St. Gallen.
Places with a View in St. Gallen Switzerland: Falkenburgstraße
Falkenburgstraße is the street that leads you towards “Falkenburg”, a Restaurant at Falkenburgstrasse 25. Both from the Restaurant, and already from the Street, you can enjoy a view over the City of St. Gallen. As it is located more southwards, than both following ones, you are literally sitting above the Old Town. When taking Pictures, please note that there are private houses along the street.
Places with a View in St. Gallen Switzerland: Dreilinden
“Dreilinden” is synonymously used as a recreational area in the city of St. Gallen. It is located a short walk from the upper Mühleggbahn station. The Dreilinden area consists of a total of five artificial ponds of which a few are public swimming pools in the summer and ice-skating arenas in winter. The ones that are not for people to swim, in the summer months, can be used by dogs to refresh and play. All the ponds are free to use and hang out. Up from this area you have a great view over the City of St. Gallen and you can even see Lake Constance on the right side. After a 30-minute train ride from Romanshorn, a Swiss town at Lake Constance, I assumed St. Gallen to be even more in the country and not that close to the Lake. To enjoy the View you can either sit on a public bench or visit “Restaurant Dreilinden”, definitely a Place with a View in St. Gallen.
Places with a View in St. Gallen Switzerland: Wildlife Park Peter und Paul
The Wildlife Park Peter und Paul is located northwards the city centre of St. Gallen. Located on the hill Rosenberg you have some great views from there as well, in addition to the various animals you can find there. The wildlife animals are bred in the zoo and partially suspended in the Alpine region, you will find there Ibex, Chamois, Sika deer, Wildcats, Larynx, Marmots and much more. The entry is free and it’s located at Kirchlistrasse 92 in 9010 St. Gallen, Switzerland.
