Usually, when visiting Cities, I tend to eat out. To get a vibe of the City, discover local specialities and usually also as I’m anyway outside and just grab a bite where ever I am. During my stay in Rome on one evening, I just didn’t feel like going out. Finding a good Restaurant in Rome for Dinner without a table reservation can be tricky if you want to eat at authentic places and none only frequented by foreigners. So I opted for a more convenient option, by eating Dinner at my Hotel Restaurant at NH Collection Roma Palazzo Cinquecento. And do you know what’s almost as pleasuring as having a good Dinner? Only having to take the elevator to get back to your Room!
If the weather is cooperative you can have a seat on the Terrace while watching the busy Roma Termini Station in far, whilst be sitting right next to historical relics. But no, I opted to stay inside for my Dinner at the NH Collection Roma Palazzo Cinquecento Hotel Restaurant. Almost all morning Breakfast is offered in the exact Room, right next to a Bar that is open almost all day long (10 am to 1 am). The Hotel Restaurant offers Lunch from 12:30 pm – 2:30 pm and Dinner from 6:30 pm – 10:30 pm, each from Monday to Sunday.
To start my Dinner off I ordered a Collio Pinot Grigio Mongris White Wine (11€ per Glas), which was automatically accompanied by the for Italy authentic bread basket. While nibbling on with olive oil sprinkled crunchy bread (so good!) I flicked through the menu, deciding what to order. As I had half-board (breakfast and Dinner) I could choose everything I wanted. In the end, I only opted for two courses, to make sure to finally try the coffee machine in my room as dessert.
For Antipasti / Starters I ordered the Tacos con Burrata con Cavolo / Tacos served with Burrata Cheese and Cabbage (12€) and for Secondi / Main Course the Millefoglie di Melanzane su Vellutata di Pomodoro, Bufalo Mozzarella, Scaglie di Grana e Basilico / Aubergine Millefoglie served with Tomato Velluté, Buffalo Mozzarella, Cheese Flakes and Basil (13€).
After a Day spent in a fully booked Train from Naples to Rome, followed by a long Day in busy Rome, it was so nice to enjoy attentive Service for Dinner. As the Restaurant and Bar were both not very busy, and everyone seemed to be also enjoying a calm evening, the Atmosphere was both sophisticated and relaxed. A Dish I was very curious about were the Tacos with Burrata and Cabbage. Decorated like a piece of art they consisted of a slice of Toast/Bread, creamy Burrata Cheese and marinated red Cabbage. The taste of each ingredient was well seasoned and everything just worked perfectly together. Fresh Cabbage, creamy cheese and plain bread – a perfect appetiser! My main dish, a tower of Aubergine and Mozzarella and Aubergine and Mozzarella, surrounded with fresh tomato soup, was not less decorative, and neither less delicious.
If you are a Hotel Guest or not, everyone is invited to eat at the Hotels’ Restaurant. Both my dishes were very good, and I plan on recreating my starter, you can also enjoy them each as a smaller meal, or together followed by a dessert. I can definitely recommend the friendly service and the very good Food at the NH Collection Palazzo Cinquecento Hotel in Rome.
