Where to buy your tickets for the Como Brunate Funicolare, to enjoy stunning views. Lake Como is always worth any visit. May it be for a weeklong holiday to enjoy everything the region has to offer, in the fields of culinary, nature and water, or for a day trip or just a stop for a few hours when passing by. The lake as well as the charming towns and cities nestled around the shore are just stunning. If you want to explore the lake from a different perspective, you can either rent a boat or go up the elevations. Hiking up one of the rowing hills can be definitely rewarding, but there is a faster option – the Funicolare public transportation service from Como to Brunate.

In just about 8 minutes the Como – Brunate Funicolare, a kind of cable railway, travels up and down the hill. There is always one carriage simultaneously going up, and one down. Departure times are every 15 minutes, almost all day, every day. But, how is the procedure for the Como – Brunate Funicolare, and where do you buy the tickets?

Enjoy stunning views of Lake Como from Brunate, even as far as Milan’s skyscrapers, and travel seamlessly to the city in the clouds above Como City. If you, too, want to enjoy the views and the ride with a Como Brunate Funicolare, you should definitely choose this adventure. Conveniently, the ticket office is located right in front of the lower lake-side entrance to the carriage. At the mountainside station up in Brunate is only a ticket machine available for you.

Prices for the Como Brunate Funicolare

But if you’re anyway at the Lake and want to take advantage of both rides, make sure to already buy a return ticket. It’s not only cheaper than two single-ride tickets, but it also enables you to use the same ticket for both rides, without having to buy a second one and waste time unnecessarily. The regular price for a single ticket (if you want to hike one way, and use the Funicolare for the other), is 3,10 Euro per teenager/adult, the return ticket is 5,70 Euro. If you stay at a hotel in Brunate, the price per luggage is 1,20 Euro. More details on ticket prices can be found right below.

During my visit on a Sunday at noon during the summer months, we had to queue outside the station building for about half an hour. This was not only due to the number of people wanting to travel but also due to the fact that departure times are only every 15 minutes. So we had to wait for 2 rounds. For refreshments, or an Italian breakfast, there is a Bar located inside the building offering Hot Coffee as well as chilled drinks, ice cream and other snacks.
