Fried Cheese with Tartar Sauce in Bratislava at Venturska Klubovna

In eastern European countries meat is eaten a lot. As a vegetarian, the only remaining option is often either salad or fried cheese, or both. In Bratislava, I strolled the town and stopped as soon as I saw the shadow-spending umbrellas of Restaurant Venturska Klubovna. A bit earlier than noon the Restaurant wasn’t too busy (yet) and the service incredibly fast. From approaching the Restaurant to having a meal served to my table only 10 minutes have passed.

Even though temperatures were approaching the 30’s I went for something from the ‘delicacies from the stove’ page of the menu. Classic fried cheese for 7,79€, with deep-fried gouda cheese, homemade tartar sauce and roasted potatoes. I swapped the roasted potatoes for fried ones, and just seconds after ordering I had a chilled drink, and some minutes later a hot meal. Fried Cheese with Tartar Sauce is a dish you can’t do too much wrong with, and indeed it was really good. Creamy cheese in a crunchy coating, tasty dip and also crunchy Fries.
