Ingredients for one Würstel Pizza:

  • 1 pre-made pizza dough (store-bought or homemade(!))
  • 3 tablespoons tomato puree
  • Salt, to taste
  • Water, as needed, for the tomato sauce
  • 1 Frankfurter / Vienna sausage, sliced and pre-fried in a pan
  • Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 1/2 ball mozzarella cheese
  • Optional: herbs like basil or oregano for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 220°C and lightly grease a baking sheet or pizza stone.
  2. Spread out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer the dough to the prepared baking sheet or pizza stone.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the tomato puree with a pinch of salt. Add water as needed to achieve your desired consistency. Distribute the tomato sauce evenly over the prepared pizza dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Dust everything slightly with grated parmesan cheese.
  4. Arrange the sliced Frankfurter Wiener sausages on top of the parmesan and sauce, and the mozzarella cheese over the sausage slices.
  5. Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and melted. Once baked, remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing.
  6. Garnish with fresh herbs like basil or oregano if desired, then serve hot and enjoy the delicious fusion of flavours!
