eBikes give you a totally new perspective while exploring a city. You are faster than walking but still close to everything. Riding the smart eBike at the Beach in Barcelona was a super nice experience. Getting to know a super fancy Bike, and cruising along one of the most beautiful beaches in Barcelona while the sun was slowly setting, just perfect. There are Bike Routes, and there is the Beach in Barcelona.

Even in early November, there are still many people around, some even laying at the Beach. No Girls in Bikinis though, but Surfers in full wetsuits about to hit a wave or two. A lot are drinking and chatting at the Cafés and many others are just walking by, watching the scenery and the artists performing. And then there am I, driving the smart eBike. Along Passeig Marítim Barceloneta there are special bike routes, so you don’t collide with pedestrians, which is super convenient. The eBike by Car Manufacturer smart was first launched in 2012, with no successor model, yet. The colour scheme is similar to the green-white the electric drive smarts use. The big advantage is to drive up to about 20 to 25 km/h and all you have to do is pedal slowly and chilled. Riding a bike without getting sweaty or exhausted, perfect for a City Trip! The range of the smart e-bike is about 100 km/h, depending on how you drive and in what mode you use the bike. You can fully control everything on a small monitor in the middle of the handlebar. If you need navigation you can even mount your smartphone there, and of course, charge it via a USB connection. But sure, this reduces your potential reach with the electric motor.

I’ve only used the smart eBike for a short spin along the Beach in Barcelona, therefore I don’t have any experience in the batteries longevity or other things. But for this joyride I absolutely liked it.
