In north-western Italy, you can find the best, and most famous, markets at Lake Maggiore. Situated in charming towns nestled along the shore, both tourists and inhabitants buy their goods there. Italian markets aren’t limited to seasonal vegetables and fruits, you can basically buy everything for your whole household at those stalls. Clothes and Shoes, Ceramics, leather goods and more. But, as the sellers differ from market to market, you can’t find everything at every market.
The one with the broadest spectrum of products is the market in Luino. To keep the exclusivity, the markets around the Lake each only pop up for one day per week. Luckily, it’s always the same weekday, with each another day and another market at Lake Maggiore. To prepare your Trip to one of the markets, following below each the weekly dates and where the market is taking place. The towns itself aren’t big, you will definitely find the markets without any detailed street information. Just follow the the other people, or ask locals “Dov’è il mercato?” (where is the market?). For more information on what to see and do around the Lake, check out the official Tourism Website at illagomaggiore.com.
