Naples Hotel Mercure Napoli Centro Angioino

Close to the Port of Naples Hotel Mercure Napoli Centro Angioino is situated in one of the nicer Locations in the Campanian capital. Restaurants with delicious Pizza, a Metro Station and much more is in an easy walking distance. For a (short) City Trip the Hotel is truly ideal. It’s easily accessible from the Airport, the Train Station and from the Ferry Terminal, the Rooms are spacious and feature nice complimentary and the ‘Neapolitan Buffet Breakfast’ gets you ready for a busy day ahead. Also, as the Hotel is so close to the Royal Palace, not only some Rooms have a view on this beautiful Palace, there is also a Terrace with a stunning view. From the harbour to the Castle and parts of the City, for Breakfast or later during the Day for Dinner directly under the sky when everything is beautifully illuminated.

Once I arrived back in Napoli, from Rome by Train, I took the Metro to Municipo. There isn’t a strict timetable, but it rides about every 10 Minutes. The journey itself takes just a few minutes and one stop in between, from Centrale to Municipo. The price for one Ride is just 1€ (or 1,50€ for a 90-minute Ticket), with no extra fees for Luggage. The Hotel itself, Mercure Napoli Centro Angioino, can be found at Via Depretis 123, thanks to the big sign not to be overseen. Check-In went fast as I already took advantage of the Online-Check-In. As I still arrived a bit early I had to wait a few minutes for my Room to be ready, but less than 5 Minutes. In total there are 99 Rooms on 7 Floors, my Room was on the 4th Floor. Breakfast is served on the third, to take advantage of the beautiful Terrace. The first thing I noticed about my Room was how spacious it is. The double Room featured an entry hall with a closet, the main Room with a working table including a Nespresso machine with complimentary capsules, a minibar, an Apple and chocolate drops as welcome snacks, a stool and a double bed. The bathroom was equipped with a toilet and a bidet and a shower. A highlight were all the complimentaries, besides shower gel and shampoo Mercure offered a toothbrush, show sponge and more – how nice! Another highlight of this Room was the balcony it had, with a view of Via Depretis (a one-way street) and the Royal Palace. The WiFi is free for every Guest, in the public spaces and in the Rooms. To start energised into the new Day the Hotel offers a “Neapolitan buffet breakfast”, with international classics such as Baguette, Butter, scrambled eggs, cold cuts, yoghurt and local classics like Mini-Croissant and Sfogliatelle. Unfortunately, they only offered this industry square-sized, in plastic-wrapped cheese. I definitely missed some real cheese, as I don’t eat Salami or Ham. For sure the coffee machine was working perfectly and for my second Cappuccino, I took advantage of the Terrace. Even though it was February, and also quite cold in Naples, the sun was warm, the sky blue and sitting on lounge chairs while watching the Palace and sipping a Cappuccino was quite a moment.
