The best In-Car Sound by Harman Kardon in the Kia Stinger

The Kia Stinger, what a sexy Car! But, did you know a Car is the best place to listen to music? After my exclusive but brief visit to HARMAN’s Sound Lab in Northridge I now know so much more about Sound, and especially more about the technical aspects and how Sound, aka Speakers, are actually developed and made. Continue reading to learn more about why a Car actually is a perfect place for your favourite playlist. And if it looks sporty and sexy as the new Stinger by Kia, double bonus! (I hope the pictures justify the look of the car, to experience the excellent sound you will have to visit a local Kia dealership and test drive a Stinger, words just can’t describe it) 😉

Have you ever listened to the same song in two different cars, and noticed a difference? Probably one just had regular speakers, the ones that just are there to be there, kind of for decoration purposes, and in one with an actual sound system? I bet everyone, may it be your 3-year-old kid or your 85-year-old grandma, everyone (!) will definitely hear a difference. “Sound” actually is something so objective, everyone hears differently and therefore understands things better or worse, but good quality is something everyone can literally understand blindly. Listening to Music and Sound is way more than just listening with your ears, it’s also the sound waves and bass boosts that may hit your body, you might know that “heartbeat” from attending a concert with professional equipment, but also the atmosphere and surroundings influence what you hear. At the Sound Lab by HARMAN, right next to the impressive HARMAN Experience Center in Northridge near Los Angeles, I learned more about the basics of Sound, and how Sound actually is made. Besides learning about the manufacturing of speakers, and how they are tested (so impressive!), the focus was on how they created the best In-Car Sound with Harman Kardon for the new Kia Stinger. The two keywords are Clari-Fi™ Technology and QuantumLogic™ Surround Sound. One engineer even told us that he was so happy Kia agreed on placing each subwoofer under the front seats, improving the sound quality onboard a lot. As we tested out later, you can actually feel the sound with your butt, not in a way that you get scared once the bass hits, but in a nice and gentle way that we, with Gigi from theawesomer.com, actually had to laugh out loud once we felt it, again.

The main features of the Sound System in the Kia Stinger are the Clari-Fi™ Technology and QuantumLogic™ Surround Sound. The Harman Kardon Sound System is available at extra cost for every new Stinger, prices depend on each country but can be found at each Kia Website or dealer.
