The Lipno Treetop Walkway offers what it says, you can literally walk in between the treetops. And by this you have some stunning views on Lake Lipno and the area around. Lipno Dam is located along the Vltava River in the South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic, very close to Austria and Germany. The Sumava Region is known for its beautiful nature and for great hiking routes.
A 657 m long path from the entrance to the very Top of the Treetop Walkway might sound very long, but numerous Information Boards and Activity Areas shorten the time enormously. For example you can walk on a Rope with just a net underneath you, use one of the installed Tripods to take some Photos the way everyone took Photos before the ‘Selfie’ or learn about the different kinds of Trees. Once you’ve reached the 40-meter high observation Tower of the Lipno Treetop Walkway you feel like you’re on Top of the World. You might be a little exhausted, or a bit scared of the height. But you can definitely (and should) enjoy the 360 degree roundview of almost the whole Lipno area, the surrounding Šumava mountains, the Novohradské mountains and the Alps. Even though the way goes always a little up it’s still possible for wheelchairs or prams to be pushed up as the path is very even. The entrance Fee for adults is 190 CZK (7 €) and 120 CZK (4,45 €) for Children from 3 to 15 Years.
Another Tip is the “longest dry toboggan in the Czech Republic”, but I haven’t tried it by myself. For more Information, check out this Information Flyer in english language.
